Position Description

As a National Account Executive, Strategic Alliances at Summus you will be the national point of contact for our relationships with Professional Employer Organizations (PEOs), Third Party Administrators (TPAs), Stop Loss Carries and HCM/Benefit Administration Companies. By executing on a coordinated strategy, the National Account Executive will be the point person for relationships with key contacts within those verticals, with the objective to drive strong preference, build understanding of our solution, and adoption of the Summus platform. A successful hire will have a proven track record of consistently achieving and exceeding sales targets and building strategic relationships. This position has the potential for tremendous growth opportunities within Summus as our organization scales. We are seeking a talented executive who is excited to grow with us.

In this role you will:
  • Execute on the Strategic Alliances partnership and sales strategy for Summus programs in accordance with the Summus sales strategy and stated targets.
  • Develop key relationships within the channel that will drive strategic value and revenue.
  • Actively participate and drive innovative distribution strategies that benefit the Company’s mission to be the key access point for the world's best physicians.
  • Ensure that all business development and sales activities comply with security or compliance requirements as dictated by outside counsel.
  • Actively participate in and support planning and execution of Company’s strategic plan.


  • Work closely with the Summus National Account Sales Team and Vice President of Sales/Head of National Accounts to become a credible and trusted member of the National Accounts Team.
  • Maintain accountability and responsibility for execution of the sales and partnership strategy and exceed your targets.
  • Forge working relationships with key contacts in the Strategic Alliances vertical that drive revenue and strategic value for the company.
  • Maintain CRM hygiene and diligence in tracking/recording work activities to ensure accurate forecasting.
  • Effectively represent the Summus culture and passion for our mission in all business dealings internally and externally.
  • Have an unwavering commitment to seeing the company hit and exceed its targets and strategic goals.


  • 10+ years of professional sales experience.
  • Successful experience working with decision makers at the highest levels within PEOs, TPAs, Stop Loss Carriers and HCM/BenAdmin companies.
  • Proven success in working within a sales framework and expert knowledge of sales and sales cycle management, as well as forging productive relationships within PEOs, TPAs, Stop Loss Carries and HCM/BenAdmin companies.
  • Experience managing relationships in multi-year contract cycles
  • Experience with complex negotiations and long-term relationship management
  • Superior communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work responsibly, both independently and collaboratively as needs warrant in a fast-paced environment.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Receptive to close coaching and feedback.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • Background in healthcare a plus, but not required.
